The Old Newgate Coon Club

Each year in the Fall, the club stocks pheasants each weekend and some special other days for club members to hunt.  This has been a favored activity of many members and is certainly a favorite of the many dogs who participate in the activity.  The birds are taken from several of the many fields that are scattered around the vast club property.

Hunting takes place under the overarching laws of the Connecticut Department of Environment and Energy Protection

The Big game lot is a designated dog training area which can be used until March for that purpose.  Pheasants can be released and hunted in this area.
